Getting started
How to use syndications
Drive your data’s actionability with Datazoom's Syndications feature, designed to provide a streamlined and controlled way to share and receive data with third-party partners. Leverage Datazoom as a single source for data collection by syndicating specific data points from your collectors to entities like DMPs, measurement providers, SSPs, and DSPs. A key advantage is that usage fees for syndicated data are charged to the third party, not to your account.
This guide provides an overview of Syndications and how to utilize its capabilities in this initial version, whether you are sharing data (a Syndication Sharer) or receiving data (a Syndication Receiver). All actions to configure and manage syndications are facilitated by the Datazoom Customer Support team.
Managing Your Syndications
To get an overview of your current syndications or to find specific ones, please submit a request to Datazoom Customer Support. You can request a report detailing your existing syndications. This report can include information such as the Syndication Sharer, the Syndication Receiver, the number of syndicated data points, and the date the syndication was added.
For Syndication Sharers
As a Syndication Sharer, you have granular control over sharing your data with other Datazoom customers. To configure these settings, please contact Datazoom Customer Support.
Initiating Data Syndication
To start syndicating your data to a third party (a Syndication Receiver):
Contact Datazoom Customer Support with a request to add a new syndication.
In your request, specify that you wish to "Syndicate" data.
You will need to specify the Datazoom customer (the Syndication Receiver) you wish to grant access to and specify the data to be shared.
Once the syndication is established by the support team, the collector configurations included in the syndication are created for the Syndication Receiver with only the data points shared in the syndication visible to them for selection in their Datazoom data pipes.
Syndication Details
To define and manage the specifics of an active syndication, please submit a support request detailing your requirements.
Syndicated Collector Configurations: To control which of your data collectors can be used for a syndication:
Add or Remove Collectors: Inform support which of your existing collector configurations you wish to add to or remove from the syndication. You can request a list of your available collectors to choose from.
Minimum Heartbeat Interval: You can request to set a minimum heartbeat interval (e.g., 60 seconds) for data collection for the syndicated collector. This ensures data is not collected more frequently than you allow.
Syndicated Data Points: Provide a list of data points you wish to add to or remove from the syndication in your support request.
Syndication Rules: To define specific conditions that filter the data being syndicated:
Add, Edit, or Delete Rules: Submit a support request with the definition of the rule(s) you wish to implement, modify, or remove.
A rule is constructed by specifying a data point (subject), an operator (e.g., equals, contains, is greater than), and a value. The support team can guide you on available data points and operators.
Deleting a Syndication: To permanently remove a syndication
For Syndication Receivers
As a Syndication Receiver, you can receive data from other Datazoom customers with their permission with the help of Datazoom Support.
Understanding Your Syndication Details (Syndication Receiver View)
To get details about a syndication established with you, please contact Datazoom Customer Support.
View Syndicated Data Points: Request a list of all data points currently being shared with you by the Syndication Sharer. This list can include the Name, Type, Category, and Date Added for each data point.
Request Additional Data Points: If you need access to data points not currently shared:
Specify the Syndication Sharer.
Datazoom Support will relay this request to the Syndication Sharer (or you may need to inform the Syndication Sharer directly). The Syndication Sharer will then need to approve this request with Datazoom Support.
You will be notified when your request is processed. If approved, the specific data points from specific collectors implemented by the Syndication Sharer will become available to you.
View Syndication Rules: Rules the Syndication Sharer has applied to the data being shared with you.
Collector Settings Information: For details on the specific syndication collector set up for you.
Deleting a Syndication: To request the deletion of a syndication from your end, please contact Datazoom support. This will likely remove your access to the syndicated data.
Utilizing Syndicated Data in Your Account
Once a syndication is active and configured by Datazoom Support, Syndication Receivers can integrate the shared data into their Datazoom workflows by making further support requests.
Information on Your Syndication Collectors
When a Syndication Sharer initiates a syndication to you, Datazoom Support will provision a new Syndication Collector in your account.
You will be informed of the name and details of this collector.
Syndication Collector Details
Datazoom Support can provide you with details for your Syndication Collector, such as:
Activation Status: Whether the collector is active or paused. You can request to change this status.
Heartbeat Intervals: The minimum heartbeat interval specified by the Syndication Sharer.
Integration Status: Information about the collector's integration, such as whether it's active for collection and if the Syndication Sharer has completed necessary integration steps on their end.
Adding Syndication Collectors to Your Data Pipes
To use the syndicated data, you'll need to add the provisioned Syndication Collector Configuration to one of your Data Pipes.
